Because I'm avoiding uni work, here's just a little snippet from the after effects of Sei finding that Thal disappeared over last weekend.

~*~*~*~

Seiya stared down into the remaining contents of her glass. Her eyes flickered toward the entrance every time she heard new footsteps, but none matched the uneven heavy step she hoped to hear. Sighing, she drained the rest of her drink.

She could have stayed there drinking nights and days away until he came back – or at least she had some news, but it wouldn’t help anything.

Pushing herself up, her seat scraped on the floor but it was quiet in comparison to the din of chatter. Humans were so noisy, and she wasn’t in the mood for it. She offered a strained smile to a few familiar faces who called for her attention, but shook her head to decline the offer of another drink.

As she wandered through the streets of Old Town, she glanced through the arch toward the Regiment’s headquarters. She half turned and started toward the steps but her pace slowed at the foot of them – what was the point in her going? It had only been hours since she’d last gone and spoken to Coldar.

If Thal had already been gone for a week, then he probably wouldn’t reappear any time soon, no matter how she hoped.

She passed through the outskirts of the trade district, avoiding the night time bustle of the market and shops, and crossed the bridge to the relative peace of the mage’s district.

Once she reached her home, she took her key, but let it linger out of the lock for a moment. She knew that she was only going into an empty, dusty building that didn’t feel like home at the moment. She hesitated and took a slow breath before moving into their home.

Nothing had been disturbed since she’d found it like that only hours ago. The only thing out of place was his lack of uniform.

It was as if he’d set out to go to work but disappeared en route. There was nothing to suggest anything out of the ordinary had happened, no one in the Regiment seemed to suspect any foul play. Shenzi hadn’t been left behind like she had when he’d been kidnapped. At least she was with him, wherever he was.

It wasn’t the first time he’d disappeared, but before he’d left blood and death in his wake. It had been possible to track him, to a lesser extent. He’d eluded her for a millennia but they had been reunited.

Now. Now there was nothing, no trace, no sign of anything happening. The dread was lurking in the back of her mind, almost sickening as the unbidden thought plagued her. What if it was happening again?

‘You should stop looking and just move on, if it’s been a week, he’s dead.’

The conversation that she’d had with Raz came back to her. It was easy for him to say, but she knew Thal better.

Thal wasn’t so easy to kill, he’d proven that countless times. She was concerned for his life of course, but there were much worse things than death that he could get into trouble with and that was what terrified her. No, it was better to not think about that until it came up. He would be alright, he could take care of himself.

If there was a reason that he left, why hadn’t he told her? Would it have killed him to leave her a note? Bastard.

The sound of glass shattering startled her.

She hadn’t even realised that she’d picked up anything, let alone thrown it.

Why did he have this effect on her? It was infuriating and maddening how easily she lost her mind when he was involved.

She closed her eyes and exhaled slowly, calming herself down.

She needed to deal with this and tidy up, but not yet. She needed to take a walk and get some air.

Locking the door behind her, she set out and her feet found their way to the lake behind the cathedral. She was always drawn there, it was peaceful – a sanctuary from the loud and busy areas of the city. She was lost in thought as she perched on the wall, looking out to the water.

She heard a rustle from behind and her heart skipped a beat. She turned with a smile.

Her heart sank.

It was only a rabbit.

It wasn’t him.

Of course it wasn’t.

Shaking her head she sighed and ran her hand through her hair. For a moment, the last few months had fallen away to when he’d find her there, usually in the same spot, bringing a box of food and drink for her.

“Get a grip Sei,” she muttered under her breath.

She wasn’t feeling ready to go back to either of her homes, there was no hurry.

What did she do now?

He's been transmogrified into a rabbit, he's there really! ;)

Aw thanks guys <3

It's nice to take a break from writing about people travelling through time to save a sibling ....it's the basic premise of both my script and novel although both are taken in completely different directions XDD

I will be writing more soon...she is starting to get an overwhelming obsession with sleeping...dun dun duuuuuun.

Ok, semi related so I won't bother posting a new thread and spam the forum XD

From the Nightmare

Seiya’s feet pounded against the stone streets as she ran home as fast as she could. He was home. She knew it. He was finally home.

“Thal!” She called out as she approached, but her steps slowed as she approached the open door. “Thal?”

No response.

As she stepped through the threshold the stench of blood was overwhelming. Her stomach turned as her blood ran cold.

Blood was dripping from the double crib in the corner.

“No...not again...no…” She whispered, trembling as she forced herself toward the crib.

The door slammed.

Seiya turned to see him standing there, covered in blood.

“Thal?” She whispered.

He looked up, his blazing green eyes fixed on her, his mouth widening in a vicious grin.

She froze and he was on her.

Seiya’s eyes snapped open and she was gasping for breath as the dream fell away.

The twins! Where were they?

She scrambled to her feet and bolted out of the door.

Her steps faltered as she came to her surroundings. She was in Ashenvale. The twins were with Jaideth - they would be safe. Thal was...what? Missing? Dead? Worse? She wiped her dampened cheeks and ran her hand through her hair.

“Sister?” A sentinel looked at Seiya in concern. “Is something the matter?” She glanced around, on edge after the earlier ordeal.

Seiya bowed her head, leaving the question unanswered as she hurried from the tower. She made her way to opposite hill.

She collapsed and a breath she didn’t realise that she’d been holding escaped around a choked sob.

The dreams had started off normal, but yesterday’s dream had shaken her up. She couldn’t even tell if it was a dream or not. What else would it be? Could he really be trying to reach out to her? Was she just needing to see him in trouble to cope with not knowing? Was it just her worst fears playing out in her mind?

What if it wasn’t? Could she risk doing nothing on the chance it was just a dream? Could she live with herself if it wasn’t a dream and she did nothing to help him?

She didn’t even know where to start looking...but she could figure that out. First she needed to get stronger, as she was, she knew that she couldn’t take anything on yet...but she had been learning.

She needed to focus on that, so when she did find him...she just hoped that it wouldn’t be too late.
